Branching Out

Branching Out

Branching Out  –  acrylic dendritic monoprints on hand-dyed paper  –  Epiphany 2016

Epiphany is full of stories of NEW things;  wise ones from the east coming to visit the Christ Child, signifying that Jesus has come not only for his own tribe, but for everyone; and the beginnings of ministry with baptism in the river, and changing water into wine at a wedding feast.  Each of these stories is about growing into something new.

At this time of year, beneath the ground, the roots of plants are absorbing water from snowmelt, and beginning to expand so they can make new shoots in the spring.  And we can ask ourselves, where do we need to grow, spread, change direction, or branch out?  What new thing might God be wanting to do in our lives?
